The Panorama route is similar to the peak-to-peak highway in my back yard in the sense that it touches on some beautiful scenery and unique geological formations. Similar to the PNW for humidity...

The Berlin and Lisbon rivers were named by German and Portugese settlers respectively who emigrated into the South African interior after Cape Town came under British rule.

The Three Rondavels

The Berlin and Lisbon eventually join the Blyde River which carved the Canyon.

The Blyde joins the Treur at Bourke's Potholes where it carved these unique pots in the soft sandstone over the years.

The Blyde continues on through Kruger park, joins the Limpopo and eventually the Indian Ocean.
