Kerry and I took a 1 hour helicopter tour of Kauai. One of the most amazing ways to see the island especially since the 6000+ acres of the Na Pali coast is completely inaccesible except by trail or boat.

Yes, I fit in there.

Kerry and I in the air

Kauai is filled with beautiful waterfalls. Many of which you may recognize from Film or TV.

Manawaiopuna Falls (Remember Jurassic Park?)

Seven Sisters Falls

Our Co-pilot

Our pilot Agnes was awesome, but she gave a lot of credit to her first mate. Can't remember his name though. I want to say Frank?

Can't remember the name of this one, but was a cool shot

Waimea Canyon again, but from the air!

We got to fly over Waimea canyon which was even more impressive than the drive.

Waipo'o Falls

The Na Pali Coast

The Na Pali coast is arguably the prettiest and most photographed place in Hawaii. 97% of Kauai is undeveloped and one of the biggest chunks is the 6000 acres including 17mi of undeveloped coastline in these pictures.

Skylight Cave - You can take a boat in there but probably not that day

Honopu Beach

There is a hiking trail that is 11 miles one way that takes you to one of these beaches where you can camp. Permits are 3 months out. and you are only allowed one night at each of the two camp grounds.

Definte bucket list item for the next trip.

Hanakoa Falls

Waiahuakua Sea Cave

Sea caves sprinlkle the entire coasline where over centuries seawater has worn away the basalt rock. You can actually take boats in 6 or 7 of these. Probably not in winter though. Kauai bucket list item #2

Hanalei Bay

Princeville and Hanelai Bay lie on the North and wettest end of the Island. Very popular place to visit and surf. I will say the food options outside the resorts were less than 5 star - maybe less than 3-star, but I hear the resorts have some pretty sweet restaurants. We unfortunately were not allowed in as they were closed to guests only for Christmas Break - Boo! - Kauai bucket list #3

More falls.....yawn. JK! Freaking beautiful!

Hanalei River

The Hanalei is one of the other of the four major rivers coming off WiaAleAle mountain. Truly beautiful. You can paddleboard up this one as well as WaiLua - which we did - see future post.

Weeping Wall

Wailua Falls (Remember Fantasy Island?)

Da Plane, Da Plane!

Waialeale Crater

This is the crater of the main volcano that formed Kauai. Truly lucky to catch the rainbow shot. First time our pilot Agnes saw a rainbow here and she's been flying the route for two years. Lucky....
